One of my favorite Christian songs is “Give Me Jesus,” by Jeremy Camp, particularly the first few verses, “In the morning when I rise, give me Jesus.” What a difference the day is when you start it with Jesus, whether it be through a prayer, a reflection, or Bible reading. By inviting Jesus into our day, before everything unravels, we are, in essence, saying “Lord, we got this.” No matter what comes our way, we have the strength to make it through and stand firm. Many times, when my day does not go as expected, I think back and remember that I forgot my morning prayers. But praying doesn’t mean we will have a perfect day. It just means that we can get through our circumstances with the guidance, wisdom, and support, of the most Powerful.
What a better way to start your morning than with Jesus?
