Who Do You Walk With?

Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend a luncheon with several Christian women within our community, many of them whom I have never met before. It was so great to engage in fellowship and learn about them both personally and spiritually. I remember a time in my life when I prayed to be surrounded by Christian women friends. Who would have thought that I would have established my own women’s ministry with the purpose of bringing this type of fellowship to ladies of faith of various denominations. There is a saying in Spanish that goes,”Dime con quién andas y te diré quién eres,” translated, “Tell me who you walk with, and I will tell you who you are.” It was a constant reminder growing up that who we keep company with, will eventually define us. God tells us to love everyone. This of course includes those without faith, for it is through our example that we hope to bring others to Christ. So while we strive to expand on our Christian circle of friends, we are expected to bridge the gap between believers and distant Christians and non-believers. When we also take the time to walk with a non-believer, we are in essence, embracing all of God’s loving children, and hopefully, bringing them back to their faith.
